I grew up in Queens, NY, in the 1960’s.

It was there I found my rebellious streak, what can I say…

I grew up in a family of artists. Five brothers, one sister — and a whole lot of relatives, friends and pets in the same household.

I started painting seriously during the summer before my 16th birthday. I quickly realized this was meant to be my life’s work.

I went on to study the craft at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, where I now teach in the college’s Continuing Education program.

My specialty is watercolor, but my work spans all media, including oil, pastel and ink.

My work has received dozens of accolades over the years, including “Best Watercolor” awards from Bayside Historical Society and Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, as well as a recent “Award of Excellence” from the Art League of Long Island.

Over the years I have honed my craft, teaching hundreds of students along the way to love art (and technique) as much as I do.

While it is true I fell in love with art at an early age, as I developed in my career, teaching became one of my greatest inspirations. Not to mention a true source of great joy in my life.

I love helping my students — whether they are 9 or 90 — expand their artistic horizons beyond their expectations.

I have taught students of all ages in courses at the School of Visual Arts, the Art League of Long Island in Huntington, the Craft Students League & Kids Club in Manhattan, as well as the Art Guild of Port Washington.

These days you can find me painting — always, painting — whether in my NYC studio or on location around the world

Beyond painting, I love cooking, baking, gardening, photography, and spending time with those closest to me: my friends and family.

You can follow me on Facebook to keep track of my day to day updates from the studio.
